Work Package 1: Transfer of the VQTS competence matrix into the area of foreign trade


Development of the competence matrix for the occupational area of foreign trade, consisting of competence areas (which base on the core working tasks of this professional field) and single competences in competence development steps assigned to the competence areas.
Due to the very different VETs in the partner countries (see D 3.1. and D 3.6) the Competence Matrix will cover the competence areas of vocational education up to the EQF-level 5.

Description of activities

  1. The partners of all countries collect and exchange material (e.g. VET-curricula, and/or training and examination regulations as well as material concerning the required competences and experiences in the professional field of foreign trade in general) of the partner countries.
  2. Initial VQTS-Workshop by Prof. Dr. Matthias Becker to introduce and explicate the VQTS model, to foundate a common basis for all partners, to capacitate the partners and experts to use the VQTS-model independently and to prepare the transfer into the area of foreign trade (1. Meeting of partners and experts).
  3. Definition of the core working tasks of the area of foreign trade and description of the related competence areas
  4. Definition of the competences in the competence areas
  5. Each core working task (competence area) will be divided and classified into different competence development steps from “beginner” to “skilled worker”. The competence of each development step has to be described precisely.
  6. Allocation of the different steps of competence development into the EQF (resp. NQF-)-levels.
